Context Rationale: Conduction aphasia patients should learn to control the phonological expressive deficits without resorting to "lexical strategies" which often result in the verbal paraphasias. Method: Metalinguistic judgement of phonological and syntactical structure of words and sentences. Subjects: FC: 59 year old male, 1 month post-onset, phonemic jargon in all verbal productions. PB: 50-year-old male, 3 months post-onset, phonemic paraphasias. IS: 59-year-old female, 1 month post-onset, phonemic paraphasias. Procedure: 4 times a week for 45 minutes. Method is the same for each step. Patient chooses from multiple choices of visually similar alternatives, patient must read and repeat choice aloud then read and repeat all three stimuli.
