The auditory disturbance subtests include examinations of discrimination, retention span, and comprehension for vocabulary, sentences, and paragraphs. The visual and reading subtests include examinations of form and letter matching, matching printed words to pictures, matching printed to spoken words, reading comprehension for sentences and paragraphs, and oral reading of words and sentences. The speech and language subtests include 4 subtests that deal with speech movements and articulation and 11 that deal with language, ranging from overlearned serial tasks to retelling a paragraph. Tasks of intermediate difficulty in this section include sentence completion, responding to questions, naming, and providing sentences.
