They often present with mediastinal masses, high WBC counts, and substantial lymphadenopathy. T-cell ALL commonly invades the CNS and may also occur in the testes. ALL Derived from T cells.The pre-T and T cell ALLs are grouped together in terms of biological behavior and treatment. Like mature B-cell ALL, the majority of the patients are male.T-cell ALL and is also associated with other diagnostic variables, such as leukocytosis. The patients tend to be older than other ALL patients, commonly children. They often present with mediastinal masses, high WBC counts, and substantial lymphadenopathy. T-cell ALL commonly invades the CNS and may also occur in the testes. Approximately 15% of newly diagnosed children with ALL have the T-cell phenotype. The three subtypes are: early, middle, late. The percentage of each subtype is unknown. T-cell ALL is defined by the leukemic cell expression of the T-cell associated antigens called CD2, CD7, CD5, or CD3. Of these, CD2 is associated with a more favorable prognosis.
