There were four patients in each of the three groups (covert-orienting group, overt-orienting group, and control group). All patients showed visual and tactile neglect, visual and tactile extinction, as well as hemiplegia or hemiparesis (contralateral to the lesion). Neglect was stable as proved by the second assessment carried out one month after the first. Only those patients who showed the same degree of neglect in the two assessments were included in the study.
