In respect of dietetic foods (i.e. foods intended to satisfy the particular nutritional requirements of specific groups of the population), the Commission will elaborate a specific Directive on foods intended to meet the needs resulting from intense muscular effort. It will also prepare a report on foods intended for persons suffering from diabetes, and define the conditions for making the claims “low-sodium” or “sodium-free” and “gluten-free”.
