Acute Non-lymphocytic Leukemia (ANLL) turns out to be a number of diseases, depending on which blood cell is affected. ANLL´s are primarily leukemias involving the granulocytic and monocytic cells. Present terminology, therefore, refers to these diseases as acute non-lymphocytic leukemia. This includes all of the acute leukemias that are not lymphocytic. Such diseases are more common in adults than in children. The FAB classification separates seven subtypes of ANLL, based on the predominant cell type.
