| A small spool on a catshaft that runs horizontally through the drawworks, whick is used to pull lines such as the jerk or spinning line. |

| Another component of the drawworks is the catheads. The make-up, or spinning, cathead is located on the driller´s side of the drawworks and is used to tighten the drill pipe joints. The break-out cathead, located opposite to the driller´s position, is used to loosen the drill pipe when it is pulled from the hole. |
