A fishing tool that uses a circulating fluid to flush out the sides of a fish in a well. It consists of a washover shoe on a washpipe which is a length of high-strength casing with flush joint connections. The washover pipe is run down the hole on a fishing string. Jars and safety releases are often attached above it.
If you cannot get to the fish, you have to order out washpipe to wash over the fish. This is a very expensive project and one that just adds to the problems. Washover pipe can be run in several different ways. You can burn over the fish and clean it out for 80 to 500 ft. then pull out of the hole and go after it with a screw in sub or overshot. (...)
