| Shear/blind rams available for most BOP sizes will repeatedly shear pipe and seal the open hole. The ram will seal rated working pressure of the BOP when being used as a blind ram or after shearing pipe. It will shear commonly used dill pipe weights and grades. A single closing motion of the ram shears the drillpipe and seals the wellbore so that the sheared lower pipe end partially reopens and permits well circulation. |
