Should regulate the use of content words by excluding nominative words because they would only aggravate the pathology of inner speech. Since content words appear automatically training the patient for function words should lead to less telegraphic speech. Method: subjects: 25 patients, motor aphasia, cerebral vascular disease, soon after stroke, all deprived of expressive speech, comprehension relatively intact, no apraxia, gross disturbances of reading and writing. Procedure: Select simplest possible words which can function as a whole sentence e.g., "oh", "ugh", "no", "there!" etc.
