On the basis of neurolinguistic analysis, the authors identified three groups of patients: the first group consisted primarily of conduction aphasics, the second group consisted of subjects with (relatively pure) amnesic aphasia, and the third group was predominantly comprised of Wernicke’s aphasics. Contrary to the work by Goodglass et al. Le Dorze and Nespoulous found no significant differences between the three groups of patients with respect to their tacit knowledge either of the form of the target words or of their meaning.
