Context |
Where implementing powers have been conferred on the Commission (for example flavourings, extraction solvents, contaminants, pesticide residues, materials in contact with food, diet foods, irradiated foods or quick-frozen foods), the current decision-making process for transforming scientific advice into legislation or decision is in some cases not satisfactory: the procedures applicable are disparate and cumbersome; different committees are involved; different modalities apply; resources are scarce and scattered.
