Definition |
The carcasses of all dead animals, diseased or not, are collected from all sources such as euthanized dogs and cats, road kill, downer cows (these are cows that are well one day and drop dead the next), animal parts and offal not used for feed or industry. This collection is taken to a rendering plant where it is boiled and the fatty part is separated from the rest and sold for use in cosmetics, as well as in other products. This is called “RENDERED” fat. The boiling does not kill the prions, since they seem to be indestructable.
