The presentation of TTP in all its forms is very similar. Most patients exhibit the constellation of extreme thrombocytopenia, intravascular hemolytic anemia from red cell fragmentation (schistocytosis), an elevated LDH level, and ischemic signs and symptoms that frequently involve the central nervous system (CNS).
