In the UK, Nominet has proposed a new policy whereby any disputes which arise are first addressed by an expert chosen from a panel put together by Nominet. If the opinion of that expert does not satisfy the parties then Nominet proposes some form of mediation. However, experience to date tends to show that when the parties have reached the stage where they are in such a dispute over a domain name that they cannot come to a mutually acceptable agreement, mediation will rarely be acceptable to them.
