| A hole, 7-10 in. in diameter and about 28 ft. long, located near the rotary table which is used to store a joint of pipe until needed to make a connection on the drill string. It has a drainhole and can have heavy-duty spring on the bottom to cushion the pipe. A plate on the drill floor often covers the mousehole when not in use. |
