| An instrument used to monitor the volume of mud in the tanks. Air signals representing the actual number of barrels in each tank are sent to a special relay device, where the readings are averaged. The averaged signal is then transmitted to an indicator and recorder, where the totalised mud volume in the tanks is indicated on a chart. A sound alarm or warning lights can be triggered from the recorder. |
