Definition |
A worm is an independent program. It reproduces by copying itself in full-blown fashion from one computer to another, usually over a network [...] Unlike a virus [...] it usually doesn´t modify other programs [...] [A] worm doesn´t destroy data [...] [b]ut it typically does a lot of damage bu harnessing the resources in a network (as it mantains and reproduces itself), by tying up these resources, and, eventually, by shutting down the network.
